LCK 2025 Qualifiers: The Road to MSI Begins!

Riot Games and League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) have officially launched the comprehensive details for the 2025 LCK Road to the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) qualifier. This tournament will determine which two teams will represent the region at the MSI taking place in Vancouver this June.

The tournament will feature a single-elimination format involving the top six teams from the LCK spring regular season. The first round will see the fifth and sixth-place teams go head-to-head, with the victorious team moving on to face the fourth-place team in Round 2, scheduled for June 8. Both initial rounds will occur at LoL Park’s LCK Arena, starting at 5 p.m. KST, and will utilize a best-of-five match structure under Fearless Draft rules. Tickets for these opening matches are priced at ₩40,000 (excluding fees) and will be available for purchase through Woori Bank’s Won Banking app starting 52 hours prior to each match, as well as through Interpark 48 hours before.

As the competition progresses, it will shift to the Sajik Indoor Gymnasium in Busan for Rounds 3 to 5 from June 13 to 15. The leading two teams from the regular season will compete on June 13 for the No. 1 seed. On June 14, the third-place team will take on the Round 2 winner, and the finals on June 15 will feature the winner of Round 4 against the Round 3 runner-up for the second MSI slot. Matches in Busan will commence at 5 p.m. for Round 3, with Rounds 4 and 5 scheduled for 3 p.m. All matches will also adhere to the best-of-five format with Fearless Draft rules.

Ticket sales for the Busan matches will follow a staggered schedule. Presales via Woori Bank will start on May 21, while Interpark will initiate sales on May 23 for Round 3 at 3 p.m., Round 4 at 4 p.m., and the final match at 5 p.m., with additional sales available on May 30 through identical time slots. Tickets can be purchased through both Korean and global Interpark platforms, as well as through the Won Banking app. Notably, the 2025 qualifier marks the introduction of LCK’s new single-season structure running from March through September, featuring a total of 10 teams competing for both regional and international recognition.

This exciting new format not only aims to enhance competitiveness within the league but also to strengthen the LCK’s global presence in esports. The anticipation surrounding the 2025 qualifiers reflects the growing popularity of League of Legends and its vibrant community.
