Fiji Football Association president Rajesh Patel has issued a rallying call for fans to passionately support the national women’s football team, the Fiji Kula, as they launch their FIFA Women’s World Cup Oceania Qualifiers at 4R Stadium in Govind Park, Ba, tomorrow. To encourage maximum attendance, all matches throughout the tournament will be free, providing a fantastic opportunity for supporters to back the Kula in their quest for a historic place in the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Patel emphasized that this initiative aims to boost community attendance, particularly inviting families and loved ones of the players to come and show their support. He underscored the importance of this qualifying campaign, stating that it is the first tournament under the guidance of the new head coach. “This is a big moment for women’s football in Fiji, and we want the whole nation to be part of it,” Patel said.

The Fiji Kula will open their campaign against New Caledonia on Friday at 4 PM, followed by matches against Papua New Guinea on March 2 and Vanuatu on March 5, also at 4 PM. With the backing of the community, this tournament promises not only to showcase the players’ skills but also to unite the nation in a celebration of women’s sports and empowerment.

This initiative reflects a broader commitment to promoting women’s football in Fiji, fostering a supportive environment for athletes, and inspiring future generations of female footballers. The Fiji Kula’s journey is not just about the matches; it’s a pivotal moment for women’s sports in the country.
