Henry Golding recently provided an update regarding the highly anticipated television adaptation of Crazy Rich Asians. The series, which is being produced by Max and Warner Bros, aims to expand on the story presented in the original film.
During an appearance on the Today Show promoting Another Simple Favor, Golding shared insights about the series alongside co-star Awkwafina, with whom he discussed the project over dinner. He mentioned that screenwriter Adele Lim visited him and co-star Gemma Chan in London to brainstorm the direction of the series. “We have a larger, longer-running format because we’re doing a series. We have so much runway to really share the world you kind of got a glimpse of in Crazy Rich. We’re really excited to show more,” Golding expressed, highlighting the depth and breadth of storytelling that the series will offer.
Additionally, while on the red carpet at the Met Gala, Golding reflected on the contrast between his experiences at the gala in the past and present, noting how different it felt attending right after the success of Crazy Rich Asians without knowing anyone.
