Anthony Joshua is returning to training, yet his boxing future remains uncertain following a tragic road accident in Nigeria that took the lives of two of his close friends, Sina Ghami and Latif ‘Latz’ Ayodele. The two-time heavyweight world champion, who incurred minor injuries from the December 29 crash, has begun a journey of recovery both physically and mentally. He recently shared a video on social media labeled “mental strength therapy,” illustrating his commitment to overcoming this challenging period.

Eddie Hearn, the promoter who has been with Joshua since his Olympic gold medal win in 2012, has expressed optimism about Joshua’s potential return to the ring. Hearn commented, “I don’t think there are any guarantees he fights again. But I expect him to, because it is something that he loves.” He acknowledged the considerable emotional and physical toll the incident has had on Joshua, reiterating that many are unaware of how deeply it has affected him.

Although Joshua has recommenced training, he is not yet prepared to engage in a full boxing camp. For the moment, he is putting on the gloves and finding his way back to the sport he cherishes, but the timeline for his return to competition remains pending. Hearn’s faith in Joshua’s passion for boxing suggests a hopeful path ahead, allowing fans to anticipate his eventual comeback to the ring.
