His brother, John Prevost, is making the trip to the Italian capital, which will be his fifth visit there, two of which were spent alongside Pope Leo XIV. Prevost shared his excitement about the visit, noting that he had a brief conversation with the pope to inform him of the trip.

He mentioned that their parents would be thrilled to see their son take on such a monumental role, representing both Chicago and the United States. “He’s kind of young. Tremendous responsibility. The world will be watching his every step,” he commented on the challenges ahead for the new pope.
Plans for the visit remain flexible, as Prevost noted they are looking forward to spending time together, including a potential lunch and other special engagements with the pope. However, he clarified that he does not intend to stay for Pope Leo’s official installation.
