Quarterback Zach Wilson and his wife, Nicolette Dellanno, recently treated themselves to a luxurious getaway in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, celebrating the conclusion of Wilson’s fifth NFL season with the Miami Dolphins. The couple shared snapshots from their escapade on Instagram, highlighting their romantic sushi dinner and enjoyable sunbathing moments.
Their stay at the Bahia Hotel & Beach House has become a familiar destination for them, with this trip following the location of Dellanno’s bachelorette party last year. The couple was joined by Falcons wide receiver David Sills and partner Hannah Cartwright, along with Dellanno’s mother, as seen in their social media posts.
The vacation comes on the heels of a challenging season for the Dolphins, who wrapped up the year with a disappointing 7-10 record, marking their second consecutive losing season. Wilson, who signed a one-year, $6 million contract in March to serve as a backup for Tua Tagovailoa, appeared in just four games, completing six passes for 32 yards. The coaching decision to promote rookie Quinn Ewers to starting quarterback over Wilson has left the player feeling frustrated and somewhat perplexed about his role on the team.
Reflecting on his season, Wilson expressed gratitude for the experience and the relationships he built, sharing his thoughts in an Instagram post following the Dolphins’ loss to the Patriots in Week 18. “Year 5. Grateful for the journey, the friendships, and the memories with the Miami Dolphins,” he noted, capturing his mixed emotions about the season.
The Dolphins are currently in a state of organizational change, having recently hired Jon-Eric Sullivan from the Packers as their new general manager, and with a search underway for a successor to former head coach Mike McDaniel. Meanwhile, uncertainty looms over the future of the quarterback position, as Tagovailoa has expressed openness to the possibility of a different team in 2026 despite having signed a lucrative four-year, $212.4 million contract extension in July 2024.
Amidst these transitions, Wilson’s vacation serves as a reminder of the importance of personal moments and connections, even in the face of professional challenges.
