Zach Bryan and Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia have ended their relationship after a year of dating. The singer of “Pink Skies” announced their breakup on Instagram Tuesday, confirming rumors sparked by dating app screenshots allegedly linked to him that circulated the day before. LaPaglia expressed feeling “blindsided” by the news shortly after Bryan’s post.
In his announcement, Bryan shared, “Brianna and me have broken up with each other and I respect and love her with every ounce of my heart. She has loved me unconditionally for a very long time and for that I’ll always thank her.” He described the past year as “incredibly hard personally,” revealing he has faced significant challenges. Bryan concluded that it was in the best interest of both to part ways.
He addressed his imperfections and expressed regret towards those he felt he let down, adding, “I am not perfect and never will be.”
In response, LaPaglia took to Instagram, stating, “Hey guys I’m feeling really blindsided right now,” and mentioned her intention to step away from social media to heal privately. She reassured her fans that she would be back when she was ready to talk.
The couple began dating in July 2023 and made their first public appearance together at the 2024 Grammys in February, where Bryan received his first Grammy for the duet “I Remember Everything” featuring Kacey Musgraves.
Earlier, LaPaglia had dismissed breakup rumors during a podcast episode, revealing that Bryan was dealing with personal issues. She noted that their brief social media silence sparked speculation but asserted that they were okay during that time.
In a post before the breakup announcement, LaPaglia shared a reflective quote about moving on from the past, implying an underlying sentiment.
Bryan is currently taking a break from his Quittin Time Tour, which is set to resume on November 17 in Alberta, Canada.
