Zach Bryan and Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia have ended their relationship after a year of dating. The “Pink Skies” artist shared the news of their breakup on his Instagram story, confirming rumors that circulated a day earlier when a possible dating app profile of Bryan appeared online. Despite the anticipation surrounding the announcement, LaPaglia expressed that she felt “blindsided” by the split just hours after Bryan’s post.
In his announcement, Bryan expressed his respect and love for LaPaglia, stating, “Brianna and me have broken up with each other, and I respect and love her with every ounce of my heart.” He acknowledged the unconditional love she had given him and thanked her for it. Bryan revealed that it has been a challenging year for him personally, filled with significant struggles, which ultimately led him to conclude that separating was the best decision for both of them.
“I am not perfect and never will be,” he added, extending apologies to those he felt he had let down.
Soon after, LaPaglia posted her own reaction, saying on her Instagram story, “Hey guys I’m feeling really blindsided right now,” and announced her intention to take a break from social media in order to heal privately. She assured her fans, “When I’m ready I’ll be back and ready to talk,” and reminded them that they are loved and everything will be okay.
Bryan and LaPaglia began dating in July 2023 and made their red carpet debut together at the 2024 Grammys, where Bryan won his first Grammy for his hit duet “I Remember Everything” with Kacey Musgraves.
Previously, LaPaglia had dismissed breakup rumors during an episode of Barstool Sports’ “BFFs” podcast. A few weeks earlier, Bryan faced backlash for a now-deleted tweet suggesting Kanye West was superior to Taylor Swift, for which he later apologized, noting it was a drunken comparison that did not come out as intended.
LaPaglia remarked that it was a difficult week for both of them, and on the podcast, she mentioned that while they hadn’t posted about each other for a week, they were still together. However, she did allude to feeling the weight of Bryan’s personal struggles.
Prior to the breakup announcement, LaPaglia shared a reflective message about moving on from the past, suggesting that life continues despite one’s desire for it to pause.
Currently, Bryan is on a break from his Quittin Time Tour, which is set to resume on November 17 in Alberta, Canada.
