Zach Bryan and Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia have ended their relationship after a year of dating. The news was confirmed by Bryan on his Instagram story on Tuesday, which came after speculation arose when a dating app profile seemingly belonging to him was shared online. LaPaglia expressed her feelings of being “blindsided” just hours after the announcement.
In his post, Bryan stated, “Brianna and me have broken up with each other and I respect and love her with every ounce of my heart. She has loved me unconditionally for a very long time and for that I’ll always thank her.” He described the past year as “incredibly hard” and revealed that he had been dealing with significant personal struggles. He ultimately felt it was best for both of them to part ways.
Acknowledging his imperfections, he apologized to those he may have disappointed, emphasizing his efforts in everything he does.
Soon after, LaPaglia responded, saying, “Hey guys I’m feeling really blindsided right now.” She announced that she would be taking a break from social media to heal privately, assuring fans that she would return when ready. She concluded her message by reminding her followers of their worth and that “everything’s always gonna be okay.”
Bryan and LaPaglia began their relationship in July 2023 and made their red carpet debut at the 2024 Grammys, where Bryan received his first Grammy for “I Remember Everything,” a duet with Kacey Musgraves.
Prior to the breakup news, LaPaglia had recently dismissed rumors about their relationship during an episode of Barstool Sports’ “BFFs” podcast. Earlier, Bryan had faced backlash over a controversial tweet regarding Kanye West and Taylor Swift, which he later apologized for, explaining it was a poorly expressed drunken comparison.
LaPaglia mentioned her own struggles alongside Bryan’s, noting, “He’s just going through a lot of personal stuff and I feel like I’m taking the brunt of all of it.” She mentioned a cryptic message she shared before the breakup, reflecting on the need to let go of the past.
Currently, Bryan is on a break from his Quittin Time Tour, which will continue on November 17 in Alberta, Canada.
