CINCINNATI — The highly anticipated concert by the Zac Brown Band, set to take place tonight at TQL Stadium, has been postponed due to expected severe weather conditions in the Greater Cincinnati area.

A representative from TQL Stadium announced the decision, stating, “Out of an abundance of caution, tonight’s Zac Brown Band concert has been postponed due to severe weather.” The venue is working with event partners to establish a new date, and all tickets purchased will be honored for that rescheduled date, requiring no action from attendees regarding their current tickets and seat assignments.

Severe thunderstorms are predicted to hit the region tonight, some of which may pose significant threats including the potential for tornadoes, strong winds, and hail. The Storm Prediction Center has placed much of the area at a Moderate Risk threat level, rating it at 4 out of 5. Meteorological models anticipate the most severe storms arriving between 6 and 8 p.m., coinciding with the concert’s original schedule.

Although TQL Stadium officials indicated on Thursday that the concert would proceed regardless of rain, they officially announced the postponement around 4 p.m. today due to imminent weather threats. Emergency officials are particularly vigilant about potential lightning that could affect activities within the city, noting that safety protocols are enacted whenever lightning is detected within a 7- to 10-mile radius of the venue.

This concert was poised to be the Zac Brown Band’s debut performance at TQL Stadium and the third concert overall since the venue’s opening. It follows previous performances by The Who and Kenny Chesney, which attracted significant crowds.

In addition, the Cincinnati Reds have adjusted their game schedule against the Cleveland Guardians due to the weather forecast. The first pitch is now set for 5:10 p.m., earlier than the originally scheduled 6:40 p.m. time. Ticket holders for the later start time will still be able to use their tickets for the earlier game. Gates at the Great American Ball Park will now open at 4:10 p.m.

As the community navigates through the uncertainties posed by severe weather, both event organizers and attendees are reminded of the importance of safety while also looking forward to rescheduled events that highlight local entertainment.
