Yung Filly Faces Serious Charges Amidst Australian Tour Controversy

Yung Filly, the British YouTuber and rapper, has been charged with rape following an incident involving a woman in Australia. The allegations stem from an event on September 28, when he reportedly assaulted the victim in his hotel room in Perth following a performance in Hillarys.

Western Australian authorities announced that a man was arrested in Brisbane earlier this week and subsequently extradited to Perth to face charges including four counts of rape, three counts of assault causing bodily harm, and one count of obstructing a person’s normal breathing or circulation.

The 29-year-old rapper, whose real name is Andrés Felipe Valencia Barrientos, performed at Bar1 Nightclub on September 27 as part of his Australian tour, which included shows in Melbourne, Sydney, and Gold Coast. His representative has not yet commented on the charges, and the Western Australia Police Force has also not provided further information.

In the Perth Magistrates Court, Yung Filly was represented by barrister Seamus Rafferty SC, who applied for bail on his behalf.

Originally from Colombia but now based in southeast London, Yung Filly found fame through his YouTube channel, particularly for his series “Asking Awkward Questions.” He expressed a strong passion for music in an interview with Hunger Magazine in 2022, noting his deep understanding of the art form.

With over 1.8 million YouTube subscribers and 3.2 million Instagram followers, Yung Filly has also hosted the BBC Three series “Hot Property” and participated in Channel 4’s “Great Celebrity Bake Off” special. He and fellow social media star Chunkz won the media personality award at the 2021 Mobo Awards.
