In a significant accomplishment for sustainable forestry and local livelihoods, 44 participants have graduated from an intensive three-week training program on tree harvesting and portable sawmill operations in Sese Village, Saqani, Cakaudrove. Organized by the Fiji Forestry Training Centre, this program aimed to enhance local capabilities in sustainable timber processing, emphasizing skills crucial for both environmental conservation and community economic growth.
Among those who completed the program was 16-year-old Farasiko Naisoko, a Form 4 student from Saqani High School, recognized as the youngest participant.
