PEORIA, AZ — A remarkable event is on the horizon as thousands of students prepare to graduate from Arizona State University, and among them is 14-year-old Abigail Zagala, one of the youngest graduates in the history of the institution.
Abigail’s journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. From reading at just two years old to completing high school by the age of 11, she has consistently exceeded expectations. “I love learning about the world and how people are connected to each other,” said Abigail, who will be graduating with a bachelor’s degree in social and behavioral sciences and an impressive GPA of 4.33.
Her parents, Sarah and Richard, have always encouraged her to pursue her passions without limits, embracing her talents and achievements. “We raised her with the mindset that it’s limitless… we don’t want to put limits on what she can do,” shared Sarah. Abigail balances her academic excellence with typical teenage activities like painting her nails, playing video games, and spending time with friends.
On Monday, Abigail will walk the stage at the commencement ceremony, where she will also be recognized with a Dean’s Medalist Award for her academic accomplishments. “There are no words that can express how proud we are of her,” said her father, Richard.
Looking to the future, Abigail aims to pursue a law degree and become a human rights lawyer. She has already received acceptances from various law schools and is continuing to explore her options. Her parents plan to support her by relocating to her chosen city for studies.
