In a notable achievement for sustainable forestry and community livelihoods, a group of 44 participants has successfully completed a three-week intensive training program on tree harvesting and portable sawmill operations in Sese Village, Saqani, Cakaudrove. This initiative, organized by the Fiji Forestry Training Centre, aimed to boost local skills in sustainable timber processing, combining environmental conservation with economic growth for the community.
Among the graduates is 16-year-old Farasiko Naisoko, a Form 4 student from Saqani High School, who was recognized as the youngest participant.
