The New York Yankees have made a roster change by recalling right-handed pitcher Clayton Beeter from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. This move comes as they designate fellow right-hander Geoff Hartlieb for assignment.

Despite showcasing a strong performance in Triple-A—where he recorded a 3.34 ERA with a striking 26.2% strikeout rate—Hartlieb will not have the opportunity to bounce back at the major league level. Once designated for assignment, he must navigate the possibility of being traded or placed on waivers within the next several days. Given his previous outright assignments, if he goes unclaimed, Hartlieb could opt for free agency instead of returning to the minors.
Previously, Hartlieb has played for multiple teams, including the Pirates, Mets, Rockies, and Marlins. In his limited MLB experience, he has logged 80 1/3 innings with a challenging 7.62 ERA, contrasting with his solid 4.17 ERA over 261 innings in Triple-A.
