The New York Yankees are returning home after more than a week on the road, set to host the Cleveland Guardians at Yankee Stadium. This matchup features two of the top teams in Major League Baseball, with the Yankees holding a record of 73-52 and the Guardians at 72-52, both leading the American League.
The series is especially significant for the Yankees; winning two out of three games, or ideally sweeping the Guardians, could provide a much-needed boost as they face five consecutive opponents (Rockies, Nationals, Cardinals, Rangers, and Cubs) who all have records below .500. Following that stretch, the Yankees will face a challenging schedule in September against the Royals, Red Sox, Mariners, and Orioles.
The second game of this highly anticipated series will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
The Yankees vs. Guardians game is scheduled to begin shortly after 7:05 p.m. on Amazon Prime Video, following a 30-minute pregame show. YES Network announcer Michael Kay will be calling the game, alongside analysts David Cone, Paul O’Neill, Joe Girardi, John Flaherty, and Jeff Nelson.
