Yakuza Kiwami 3 Announced as Dragon Engine Remake

Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has officially announced Yakuza Kiwami 3, a highly anticipated remake of the 2009 action-adventure game Yakuza 3. Unveiled during the latest RGG Summit presentation, this forthcoming remake promises to deliver vastly improved visuals and a host of new gameplay features. Fans can also look forward to additional story scenes that will enrich the narrative experience.

Unlike a simple remaster, Yakuza Kiwami 3 will be entirely remade using the Dragon Engine, which was first utilized in Yakuza 6. This remake will also feature dual language options, with both Japanese and English voice acting available to enhance accessibility for international audiences.

Yakuza 3 continues to follow the saga of Kazuya Kiryu and is set in the vibrant, fictional district of Kamurocho, modeled after Tokyo’s renowned Kabukicho region. The game also introduces players to a secondary location, Ryukyu, situated in Naha within Okinawa Prefecture, offering fresh environments to explore.

Recent announcements have also revealed that Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2 will be arriving on the Nintendo Switch 2, scheduled for release on November 13. While Yakuza Kiwami was already made available on Switch last year at an affordable price, Sega has provided options for existing owners to upgrade to the Switch 2 version at a discounted rate.

As of now, Sega has not confirmed the release platforms for Yakuza Kiwami 3, but updates are expected to follow as more details emerge from the RGG Summit. Fans eagerly await further announcements and the potential unveiling of additional features and enhancements.
