A recent report has surfaced, shedding light on several unannounced titles in development at Xbox, including a remake of the classic Fallout: New Vegas, a new StarCraft shooter, and an anticipated Warcraft game.
According to Windows Central, the remake of the highly regarded 2010 RPG from Obsidian is reportedly in progress, alongside a previously rumored remake of Fallout 3. This addition to Bethesda’s lineup may not be the only notable project, as the report hints that the iconic id Software could also be developing a third installment of the Wolfenstein series, coinciding with the upcoming Wolfenstein TV adaptation on Prime Video.
In a past interview, Machine Games Creative Director Axel Torvenius suggested that a trilogy narrative was always the plan for Wolfenstein, confirming that the team had laid out a story arc that continued through all three games. “We have always seen this as a Wolfenstein trilogy… we still had the plan for, at least, that character,” he stated, reflecting the commitment the developers have to continue B.J.’s journey.
In addition to these promising titles, Bethesda’s Todd Howard hinted at significant upcoming Fallout developments, emphasizing that Fallout is the series the company is currently putting the most effort into.
The report also indicates that Blizzard may be nurturing a mobile Warcraft game, currently in its early stages, with expectations of a StarCraft third-person shooter reveal at BlizzCon this September. With 2026 marking both Blizzard’s 35th anniversary and Bethesda’s 40th, it promises to be an exciting year for fans of both franchises, as Blizzard president Johanna Faries called 2026 “Blizzard’s biggest year yet.”
Though the Xbox Developer Direct is scheduled for later this month, there are no definitive details on what titles might be unveiled. However, the report suggested that “one of Microsoft’s more intrepid teams” is prepared to showcase their latest creations. Moreover, it was mentioned that Ninja Theory, known for Hellblade, is working on a game with increased combat involvement compared to its predecessors. There are also hints that a Call of Duty title could debut on the Switch 2 this year.
While specifics remain scarce regarding these potential projects, enthusiasts eagerly await further announcements as anticipation builds for upcoming showcases. Stay tuned for updates as more information becomes available.
