Wyoming is preparing for varied weather conditions on Thursday that include a chance of rain across much of the state while also expecting mostly sunny skies in certain areas. Residents can anticipate high temperatures ranging from the low 70s to nearly 90 degrees, with nighttime lows dipping close to 40 to around 60 degrees.

In Central Wyoming, Casper is poised for afternoon rain starting after 3 p.m., along with areas of smoke that could develop after 5 p.m. The expected high in Casper is around 86 degrees, cooling to about 55 at night. Riverton is also likely to see rain beginning mainly after 2 p.m. and can expect a high of 87 degrees. Shoshoni shares similar patterns, with rain projected after 3 p.m. and a high nearing 89 degrees.

In the Southwest, Evanston forecasts potential smoke in the morning but is expected to have a sunny day with temperatures reaching 83 degrees. Green River predominantly anticipates sunny weather with a high near 89 but may see areas of smoke after noon. Lyman will experience patchy smoke while enjoying a sunny day as well.

Moving to Western Wyoming, Pinedale will have a sunny day with potential rain after 4 p.m., culminating in a high of about 81. In contrast, Alpine is expected to be warmer, with highs around 91 and a slight chance of rain later in the day.

The Northwest region, including Dubois and Jackson, is bracing for similar weather patterns, with potential rain from midday onwards. Dubois has a high forecast of 77, while Jackson may reach 85 degrees.

In the Bighorn Basin, areas like Thermopolis will likely encounter rain and smoke, whereas Cody is expected to have more steady rainfall throughout the day with a high around 82. Ten Sleep can expect occasional rain along with sunshine earlier in the day.

In the North-Central area, Buffalo and Sheridan are both on track for afternoon rain. Buffalo has a high of 81, while Sheridan expects 86 degrees. Further Northeast, Gillette could see slight chances of rain and breezy conditions, with a high near 78.

The Eastern Plains, such as Torrington and Wheatland, also face similar weather trends, with both communities seeing chances of rain and highs in the low 80s.

Lastly, in the Southeast, Cheyenne and Laramie anticipate rain likely after noon, with highs around 76 and 79, respectively.

Despite the potential for varying weather conditions, residents can take comfort in the warmer temperatures and sunny intervals scattered throughout the day. It remains an excellent opportunity for outdoor activities, provided that precautions are taken during the times of smoke and to stay dry during the rain.
