WWE is reviving its Bad Blood premium live event after a 20-year hiatus, set to feature several ongoing feuds reaching their climax this Saturday night.
The highlight of the evening includes a Hell in a Cell match between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre, alongside another major showdown where Cody Rhodes teams up with Roman Reigns to take on the newest iteration of The Bloodline. Additionally, The Judgment Day will face off against the Terror Twins in two matches, and a rematch is scheduled for the WWE Women’s Championship.
In a dramatic turn of events post-show, Kevin Owens launched an attack on Cody Rhodes as he was set to address the media. Owens has expressed discontent towards Rhodes for aligning with Reigns in recent weeks.
The Rock made a surprise appearance during the event, gesturing towards Rhodes and Reigns, alluding to their involvement in the WrestleMania 40 main event.
In a thrilling tag team match, Rhodes and Reigns scored a victory over Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa from The Bloodline, with the crowd backing them significantly due to their ties to Georgia. The match was intense, featuring a key moment where Rhodes leaped from the turnbuckle, taking Fatu out of action, leaving Reigns to fend off Sikoa.
Cody also brought the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff marching band to perform his entrance theme “Kingdom,” garnering attention after their viral moment at a football game.
In the women’s division, Liv Morgan successfully defended her title against Rhea Ripley in a chaotic match that involved interference from Dominik Mysterio and Raquel Rodriguez.
Throughout the event, notable celebrities, including musicians Metro Boomin, Quavo, and Lil Baby, were seen in the audience, along with several WWE Hall of Famers.
Triple H took to the ring to unveil a new championship set to debut at Crown Jewel, and confirmed that over 16,000 fans attended Bad Blood, marking WWE’s 60th sold-out event this year.
As for other matches, Damian Priest defeated Finn Balor, and Nia Jax overcame Bayley to retain the RAW Women’s Title.
In the main event, CM Punk triumphed over Drew McIntyre in a brutal match which left both competitors bloodied, with Punk’s victory likely setting him on a path for a title match at WrestleMania.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 5, starting at 6 p.m. ET, at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, and will be available for streaming on Peacock and WWE Network.
