DC Studios has tapped screenwriter Ana Nogueira, known for her work on the upcoming “Supergirl,” to pen the new reboot of “Wonder Woman.” This choice reflects the studio’s heightened focus on bringing the iconic character back to the big screen.

As reported by Variety, there have been significant developments regarding Wonder Woman, with DC fast-tracking the project. James Gunn, co-chief of DC Studios, previously indicated in June that a “Wonder Woman” movie script is currently in progress. In addition to the film, the studio is also working on a TV series titled “Paradise Island,” which will explore the character’s mythical homeland of Themyscira. However, progress on this series has been described as moving slowly.

Nogueira’s background is diverse; she began her career in acting, appearing in shows like “The Michael J. Fox Show” and “The Vampire Diaries,” before transitioning to screenwriting. Her debut screenplay, “Supergirl,” will be released in theaters on June 26, 2026, and is based on Tom King’s graphic novel “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.”

The inclusion of Nogueira in such a crucial role is seen as a promising step for the franchise, especially as it aligns with the studio’s goal to rejuvenate its superhero lineup. As fans eagerly await these new adaptations, the commitment to female-driven narratives, from both film and television perspectives, is likely to resonate positively with audiences.

Overall, the future looks bright for Wonder Woman as it embarks on a new cinematic journey.
