Women-led businesses making strides in climate action are encouraged to apply for the WIN Convention’s Green Star Awards, which aim to recognize enterprises that are making tangible contributions to environmental sustainability.

Dr. Swartika Nair, Chair of the WIN Convention, emphasizes that the awards are designed to highlight businesses surpassing mere awareness and are instead actively committed to fostering a greener future through innovation and leadership. This year, the focus is particularly on women entrepreneurs who are emerging as climate leaders, encouraging them to seek recognition for their impactful climate initiatives.

Entries for the awards will undergo evaluation by an independent panel based on three critical areas: recycling and waste reduction, energy efficiency and renewable energy use, and long-term sustainability that encompasses biodiversity, education, research, and environmental responsibility. Dr. Nair reflects on the positive impact of last year’s winner, noting how the accolade significantly boosted their climate efforts and encouraging other businesses to participate in this year’s competition.

Highlighting the mission of the WIN Convention, Dr. Nair reiterates the commitment to placing climate action and inclusive leadership at the forefront, ensuring that women are not merely participants but leaders in crafting sustainability solutions.

The Green Star Awards will be part of the upcoming WIN Convention 2026, taking place on March 27 and 28, featuring two days dedicated to empowerment, collaboration, and proactive discussions aimed at driving real change. This initiative not only creates recognition for women-led ventures but also inspires a collective movement towards sustainable practices, embodying hope for a greener future powered by innovative female leadership.
