Wisconsin Football: A Game Day Showcase for Top Recruits!

Coach Luke Fickell understands the limited chances to showcase the University of Wisconsin football experience to recruits on gameday. The Badgers have seven home games lined up for the 2024 season, with two main types of recruiting visits considered beneficial: summer visits, where potential players explore the university and the city, and game day visits, which highlight the game’s atmosphere.

This weekend, Wisconsin will host recruits for a significant matchup against Alabama, kicking off at 11 a.m. Fickell emphasized the value of the evening and later kickoffs for fostering relationships with recruits due to the extended interaction time. However, he also noted that the team’s performance on the field is critical in creating an enticing environment for prospects.

Wisconsin is gearing up to welcome a substantial number of recruits, both committed and uncommitted. Among the anticipated guests are several out-of-state targets, including high-profile four-star athletes. Notably, Cleveland Glenville’s Cincere Johnson, ranked as the nation’s No. 111 player and the eighth-best linebacker for the 2026 class, will be attending.

Additionally, four-star running back Shahn Alston from Painesville, Ohio, is also expected in Madison, bringing offers from major programs such as Wisconsin and Penn State. In addition, early four-star prospects, athlete Roman Voss from Minnesota and tight end Evan Jacobson from Iowa, are on the guest list, with Jacobson having previously visited during spring practices.

The Badgers will also host other regional talent, including three-star tight ends Landen Miree from Cincinnati and Gavin Mueller from Illinois. Miree has drawn interest from several top schools, while Mueller, in his first season of high school football, has received interest from multiple Big Ten programs.

Wide receiver Zachary Washington is another player to watch as he returns to Madison after his unofficial visits earlier this year. Several three-star recruits are also expected, including offensive linemen Braden Wilmes from Kansas and Benjamin Novak from Indiana, along with defensive lineman Jacob Alexander from Illinois.

In addition to these recruits, several commitments from Wisconsin’s 2025 class are set to attend, including inside linebacker Cooper Catalano, offensive linemen Nolan Davenport and Michael Roeske, tight end Nizyi Davis, safety Grant Dean, and others, all contributing to Wisconsin’s top 25 ranked recruiting class nationally across major outlets.
