A significant weather shift is on the horizon as a series of cold fronts will usher in much chillier temperatures this weekend. Starting from the mild 40s on Saturday, temperatures are expected to drop into the low 30s by Sunday. Rain and snow are anticipated to begin Saturday night, continuing into Sunday.

As the temperatures decrease, a mix of rain and cold will evolve into heavier snow in areas north and west of a line stretching from Port Huron to Pontiac, and on to Ann Arbor and Adrian by Sunday morning. While road conditions are expected to remain wet across all regions, grass areas in the northwest will likely see snow accumulation, whereas in Detroit and areas to the south, snow is not expected to stick.

The coldest temperatures associated with this front will move in late Sunday night into Monday, with lingering chances for snow showers. By Monday morning, wind chills could plunge into the 20s, marking the first taste of winter for many residents.

Tonight, the weather will see clouds build with a slight chance of rain late, and lows settling in the mid to upper 30s. Winds will be from the northwest at 5-10 mph.

Saturday will bring cooler air, with highs reaching around 47° in Detroit. As the day progresses, clouds will continue to accumulate.

On Sunday, residents can expect a distinctly winter-like atmosphere, as temperatures drop into the mid to low 30s. Rain will mix with snow, particularly in areas northwest of Detroit, while roads are expected to remain primarily wet. Winds will pick up from the north-northwest at speeds of 15-25 mph.
