Winter weather conditions brought a combination of snow, sleet, and freezing rain to the Indianapolis area, prompting several school districts to announce delays for March 2, 2026.

A number of educational institutions have adjusted their schedules in response to the icy conditions. Among those with delays are Brownsburg Community School Corporation, Bishop Chatard High School, and Cathedral High School, all implementing a two-hour delay. Additionally, Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School has announced a delayed start at 10:30 a.m., while Orchard School and Park Tudor will also open later at 10 a.m.

Some districts, including Avon Community School Corporation, Beech Grove City Schools, and Indianapolis Public Schools, have not released announcements regarding delays, implying they may be operating on a regular schedule.

School districts such as Heritage Christian School, Guerin Catholic High School, and Noblesville Schools are all set for two-hour delays, with additional schools like Center Grove Community School Corporation and MSD Pike Township also adjusting their timings accordingly.

The state of Indiana has seen its share of winter weather challenges, but the proactive measures taken by local school districts ensure that safety remains a priority for students and staff. As the weather continues to evolve, communities are reminded to stay updated through their respective school websites for the latest information on closures and schedules.
