Winter weather advisories have been announced for Sunday, impacting parts of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. Forecasters predict snowfall amounts ranging from 1 to 4 inches, with some areas in New Jersey potentially seeing even higher totals. The precipitation is likely to begin as rain Sunday morning before transitioning to snow later in the day.

Forecasters from the National Weather Service have highlighted that southeastern Pennsylvania, southern and central New Jersey, and northern Delaware will experience significant winter weather. In the Philadelphia region, encompassing cities and counties such as Philadelphia, Delaware County, Montgomery County, Chester County, and Bucks County, snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches is anticipated between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Sunday.

Meanwhile, in central and northern New Jersey—covering regions including Morris, Hunterdon, Somerset, Middlesex, Mercer, and western Monmouth counties—snow totals may reach 2 to 4 inches within the same timeframe. Additional advisories are in place for Lancaster and York counties, where 1 to 3 inches of snow are expected throughout the morning and afternoon.

The National Weather Service notes that initially, rain may mix with the snow, particularly in lower elevations and areas closer to the coast. As temperatures remain chilly, the precipitation should become entirely snow by the afternoon, increasing the risk of slick travel conditions.

Officials warn that hazardous road conditions are likely, especially on untreated surfaces. They recommend that drivers exercise caution and reduce speed while traveling. Motorists are also encouraged to check updated road conditions by calling 511 in their respective states.

The winter weather advisories will expire Sunday evening, although conditions may still vary by location. Residents should stay tuned to updated forecasts as the system progresses through the region, ensuring they remain prepared for the winter conditions ahead.
