Winston Hill Targets Vacant IBF Pan Pacific Title on Gold Coast Showdown

Fijian Olympian Winston Hill is preparing for a significant milestone in his professional boxing career as he aims for the vacant IBF Pan Pacific Super Welterweight Championship this weekend. Hill will square off against Australia’s Ben Mahoney at the Ring Magazine Cruiserweight World Titles event, slated to take place at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Mahoney, affectionately dubbed “Sydney’s Golden Boy,” brings to the ring an impressive record featuring 15 consecutive victories, including eight by knockout. Despite Mahoney’s formidable credentials, Hill is no stranger to intense competition. The 2016 Olympian returns to action just four months after successfully defending his IBO Asian Pacific title against Australian boxer Lachlan O’Shea, a victory that has kept his unbeaten record flawless at 7–0, with six of those victories coming via knockout.

Adding to the excitement of the event, Australian Boxing Central has announced that the World Cruiserweight Champion Jai Opetaia will also compete in one of the main fights on the card, promising a thrilling evening of boxing and showcasing some of the best talent in the region.

As the fight approaches, Hill’s supporters are hopeful that he will continue his impressive run and claim the championship title, further solidifying his status in the boxing world.
