Winston Hill Targets Vacant IBF Pan Pacific Title on Gold Coast Showdown

Winston Hill Eyes IBF Pan Pacific Crown on Gold Coast

Fijian Olympian Winston Hill is set to reach a significant milestone in his professional boxing journey as he vies for the vacant IBF Pan Pacific Super Welterweight Championship this weekend. Hill will face off against Australia’s Ben Mahoney during the Ring Magazine Cruiserweight World Titles event, which will be held at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Mahoney, known as “Sydney’s Golden Boy,” enters the ring with an impressive record of 15 consecutive wins, including eight victories by knockout. However, Winston Hill is familiar with high-stakes competition. The 2016 Olympian is returning to the ring just four months after defending his IBO Asian Pacific title against Lachlan O’Shea, which helped him maintain an immaculate record of 7–0, with six of those victories achieved by knockout.

Adding further excitement to the event, Australian Boxing Central has revealed that World Cruiserweight Champion Jai Opetaia will also be featured in one of the main bouts on the card. This lineup promises an exhilarating evening filled with some of the top talent in the region.

As the fight night approaches, Hill’s supporters are optimistic about his chances of bringing home the championship title, a victory that would enhance his reputation in the boxing arena. The anticipation surrounding this event highlights the thriving boxing scene in the region and the potential for emerging talents like Hill to make their mark on a larger stage.
