LAS VEGAS — Las Vegas is experiencing gusty winds this weekend, with southwest gusts reaching up to 35 mph expected to persist through Saturday evening. Additionally, there is a slight chance, about 10%, of a passing shower in the area until midnight.

Sunday is set to start off in the low 60s under sunny skies, with northwest winds blowing at 10-20 mph. Temperatures will warm up to the low 80s in the afternoon as breezes continue. The evening will retain some of the breezy conditions with temperatures dropping back to the low 60s.

For Monday, the trend of breezy weather continues with north winds blowing at 10-25 mph and sunny conditions, keeping daytime highs in the low 80s. Monday night will also see lows in the low 60s.

As we move into Tuesday, temperatures are expected to rise to 90° for the first time in about a week with lighter winds and plenty of sunshine. After having reached 99° twice this month, we have yet to officially exceed 100° at Harry Reid International Airport.

Mid-week temperatures will hold steady with Wednesday forecasting highs of 97°, while nighttime lows will be milder in the low 70s. By Thursday, temperatures are projected to hit the 100° mark, accompanied by southwest winds at 15-20 mph.

The forecast for Friday and the following Saturday indicates continued upper 90s temperatures, alongside consistent southwest breezes of 15-25 mph and mostly sunny skies.

Residents are advised to take precautions against the high UV index, which is ranked as “very high” between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., indicating a risk of sunburn in just 15 minutes. It’s a good time to use sunscreen and wear hats when outdoors.

Pollen levels are expected to be medium over the next few days, with ragweed, olive, and grasses being the primary culprits. Fortunately, air quality should remain “good” on Sunday and Monday thanks to the northwest breezes that are expected to clear dust and pollution from the valley.

Enjoy the sunny weather while staying protected from the elements!
