Serena and Venus Williams, the legendary tennis sisters known for their remarkable achievements on the court, are venturing into the world of podcasting. Following Serena’s retirement from professional tennis at the 2022 US Open and Venus’s recent participation in the same tournament, the duo is set to launch their podcast titled “Stockton Street.”
The podcast, named after the street in Compton, California where they grew up, is scheduled to debut on a social media platform that was formerly known as Twitter. The podcast will release episodes every other week on Wednesdays, providing listeners with insights and stories from the sisters’ extraordinary careers and lives.
The inaugural episode of “Stockton Street” was filmed at the iconic Arthur Ashe Stadium, which holds special significance for both Serena and Venus. Serena has clinched six of her 23 Grand Slam singles titles at this venue, while Venus has also enjoyed success there with two of her seven Grand Slam victories.
Venus Williams, now 45, recently made history as the oldest singles entrant at the US Open since 1981, marking her return to professional tennis in July after a 16-month break. Her appearance at the tournament underscores her enduring passion and dedication to the sport.
“Stockton Street” promises to be an engaging platform for the Williams sisters to share their experiences, connect with fans, and potentially discuss topics beyond tennis, such as personal growth, resilience, and the challenges they’ve faced along the way. As they transition from the tennis court to the recording studio, Serena and Venus continue to inspire audiences with their dynamic presence and compelling narratives.
