Firefighters in Riverside and San Bernardino counties are currently combating six active wildfires, some of which have prompted evacuation orders for local neighborhoods. Most notably, the Wolf Fire, which has burned approximately 2,414 acres, is only 40% contained as of Monday night. It ignited near Banning on June 29, causing authorities to implement evacuation measures for impacted areas.
In contrast, the Mandalay Fire, covering 83 acres, has been fully contained, and evacuation orders have been lifted, allowing residents to return home. Certain access points remain temporarily closed, including several intersections along Eureka Drive and Tyler Street.
The Juniper Fire in Perris is also making progress, with 90% containment achieved across its 688 acres. Evacuation orders remain for specific areas as crews work diligently to secure the perimeter of the fire. Meanwhile, the Mindy Fire, which affected 109 acres, is nearly fully contained, and evacuation measures have been lifted.
Other fires include the Cable Fire, which remains 50% contained with reports of one firefighter injury, and the Lake Fire, now 70% contained, having successfully halted its forward spread.
Firefighters have been able to achieve significant containment on several fires, demonstrating their commitment and effectiveness in battling these challenging situations.
