ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Minnesota Wild celebrated a significant victory on Thursday night, defeating the Dallas Stars 5-2 and snapping the Stars’ impressive 11-game point streak. This win marked the Wild’s second consecutive triumph following a short two-game skid.

Marcus Johansson was a standout for Minnesota, scoring two goals, while Matt Boldy contributed with a goal and two assists. Joel Eriksson Ek added a goal and an assist, and Zach Bogosian found the back of the net for the first time this season. The Wild’s success was further backed by Vladimir Tarasenko, who tallied two assists, while goaltender Filip Gustavsson made 16 saves to secure the win.

The game saw plenty of action, with Dallas’s Miro Heiskanen and Jason Robertson both on the scoresheet, but their efforts ultimately fell short. Robertson initially put the Stars on the scoreboard with a power-play goal, while Heiskanen later registered a short-handed goal, showcasing Dallas’s tenacity even in defeat.

Johansson’s clutch performance came through in the third period as he netted the go-ahead goal at 8:40, firing a one-timer past Stars goalie Jake Oettinger. Boldy sealed the game with an empty-net score, marking his 17th goal of the season, and Johansson capped off the night with another goal just before time expired.

This game kept the competitive spirit alive in the NHL, underlining the unpredictability of the season. As both teams look ahead, the Wild will host the Ottawa Senators on Saturday, while the Stars are set to face off against the Florida Panthers. With this victory, Minnesota is back on track and aims to build momentum in the coming games.
