The Minnesota Wild has made a significant roster move, claiming forward Robby Fabbri off waivers from the St. Louis Blues, as announced by President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Bill Guerin. This strategic acquisition comes as the Wild also placed forward Marcus Foligno on Injured Reserve due to a lower-body injury.

Robby Fabbri, now 30 years old, has shown potential in his career, securing four points so far this season with St. Louis, including one goal and three assists across 15 NHL games. He also contributed two points in three games with the Charlotte Checkers in the American Hockey League (AHL). Standing at 5 feet 11 inches and weighing 185 pounds, the Mississauga, Ontario native boasts a career total of 220 points (107 goals and 113 assists) over 457 games played in the NHL. His journey includes ten seasons across teams such as Detroit, Anaheim, and St. Louis, where he played a vital role in the Blues’ Stanley Cup victory in 2019, accumulating 16 points in 30 Stanley Cup Playoff games.

Before joining the NHL, Fabbri had a remarkable junior career with the Guelph Storm of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), amassing 171 points in just 147 games from 2012 to 2015. During the 2013-14 season, he demonstrated his skills by ranking second on the Storm in points and goals while leading the team to a Memorial Cup victory, where he was awarded the Wayne Gretzky 99 Award for playoff MVP. Further solidifying his credentials, he also represented Canada in the 2015 IIHF Under-20 World Junior Championship, earning a gold medal and contributing six points in five games.

Looking ahead, the Minnesota Wild will host the Tampa Bay Lightning in an exciting matchup tomorrow at 8:30 p.m. CT, a game fans are eager to see as the team integrates Fabbri into their lineup. This addition to the roster gives the Wild an opportunity to bolster their offensive capabilities and adapt as they navigate the season ahead.
