Buffalo Police have confirmed that a shooting in the city’s entertainment district early Saturday morning has left one man dead and another hospitalized. The incident, which occurred shortly before 2:30 a.m. at the intersection of West Chippewa and Pearl Streets, is believed to have been targeted.

Onlookers reported hearing gunfire, prompting police to respond to the scene. Upon arrival, officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the head, who was later pronounced dead at the scene. A second male victim was transported to ECMC and is currently in stable condition.

During the investigation, police had to clear out Halloween revelers from the street, which was shut down for safety reasons. Detectives are diligently reviewing surveillance footage from the area to gather more information about the shooting.

Officials recovered two firearms from under vehicles in the parking lot and discovered multiple shell casings scattered at the scene, indicating the severity of the incident. As the investigation continues, authorities are seeking further details that could provide clarity on this tragic event.
