Westpac Fiji has proudly heralded the successful conclusion of its 2025 Graduate Program, with the promotion of two promising trainees, Anjesh Kumar Biggan and Harieta Muaror, both of whom have secured permanent positions within the bank. This program exemplifies Westpac’s ongoing commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders through a structured rotation system across various departments, geared towards enhancing their skill sets and leadership potential.
Shane Smith, CEO of Westpac Fiji, expressed pride in the program’s role in developing young professionals, identifying it as a strategic priority for the bank. He emphasized, “Our Graduate Program is about building capability for the future,” which underscores Westpac’s dedication to fostering adaptability and leadership among its employees.
Anjesh Biggan has embraced a new role as a security officer after gaining invaluable experience across multiple sectors of the organization. Hailing from Nasarawaqa, Bua, he is well-equipped with a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of the South Pacific and diplomas in Health Care Management. Currently, he is further enhancing his qualifications with a Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Management, having expanded his global outlook through initiatives like JENESYS and the One Ocean Expedition, which highlight his commitment to international collaboration and environmental stewardship.
Harieta Muaror, who has also transitioned into a permanent role, described her experience in the program as transformative. She referred to it as “life-changing,” noting its inclusive nature designed for graduates from diverse backgrounds. Muaror remarked, “The diversity within our cohort exposed me to different ways of thinking and learning,” while also recognizing the supportive framework at Westpac that includes structured resources, regular feedback, and an accessible leadership environment encouraged by the bank’s open-door policy.
