Courts in the Western Division will remain closed indefinitely due to ongoing heavy rainfall and flooding that have severely affected the area. Chief Registrar Tomasi Bainivalu confirmed the closure in a recent statement, stating that the decision was made to prioritize the safety of both court staff and the general public.

The closures took effect on Monday, March 2, 2026, as adverse weather conditions continue to worsen within the division. Bainivalu highlighted, “This decision has been made to ensure the safety and well-being of both court staff and users, following the latest reports of adverse weather conditions.”

The Chief Registrar assured the community that court operations would resume as soon as conditions allow for a safe reopening of the facilities. He expressed his gratitude for the public’s understanding and cooperation during this challenging period.

As the region faces these difficulties, it is crucial for everyone to prioritize safety and remain informed about weather updates. The resilience of the community amidst such natural challenges brings hope for a swift return to normal operations when conditions improve.
