The West Valley City community came together on May 20 to celebrate the opening of two new futsal fields at Centennial Park. The event attracted families, children, business partners, and players from Real Salt Lake and the Utah Royals. This exciting development was made possible through the collaboration of the RISE Athletics Foundation, KeyBank, and Real Salt Lake, with the fields officially opening to the public in late 2024.
These newly inaugurated futsal fields represent a significant addition to West Valley City, being the first publicly available futsal facilities in the area. Futsal, a smaller variant of soccer played by five players on each team, has been gaining popularity among the youth in the city.
Drew Yergensen, Utah market president for KeyBank, expressed pride in their partnership with RISE Athletics and Real Salt Lake, stating, “Our mission at KeyBank is to help our community thrive.
