Chapman’s outstanding performance, complemented by solid contributions from Shelton, Welborn, and Franklin, secured the decisive win.
On the girls’ side, the game was competitive throughout the first half, with Hanceville taking occasional leads, including an 18-15 edge early in the second quarter. However, West Point regained control before halftime and continued to build on their lead in the second half. A strong outing from Camryn Faulkner, who led scoring with 20 points, along with Jaelyn Faulkner’s 19 points, allowed the Warriors to dominate the final stretch of the game.
Looking forward, West Point will host Fairview in their next game, while Hanceville will travel to Oneonta. This early-season success for the West Point teams sets an encouraging tone as they progress through the season, demonstrating resilience and competitive spirit.
