Wendy’s is celebrating the 25th anniversary of SpongeBob SquarePants in 2024 by introducing a special collaboration featuring the iconic Krabby Patty. This comes as the beloved Nickelodeon character reaches a significant milestone. Wendy’s has recreated the famed Bikini Bottom dish with their own twist and even added a new dessert, the Pineapple Under The Sea Frosty.

The animated series frequently centers around the Krabby Patty, the delicious fast food item that SpongeBob flips at the restaurant where he works. Fans have long speculated what makes it so irresistible, with Plankton always attempting to steal the secret recipe adding to the allure.

The Krabby Patty Meal launched at Wendy’s on Tuesday, priced at $10.79. It includes a Krabby Patty Kollab Burger, featuring American cheese, tomato, pickle, onion, and a special “top-secret Krabby Kollab” sauce on a toasted bun. Accompanying the burger is a medium order of fries and the new Frosty, which combines a vanilla base with a pineapple mango flavored puree swirl.

While the Krabby Patty Kollab Burger may not be the most innovative creation, it delivers on taste. Wendy’s is known for its quality burgers, and the addition of the secret sauce, reminiscent of a traditional burger sauce, enhances the experience, making it a standout in the fast food burger realm.

On the other hand, the Frosty didn’t quite meet expectations initially, as the pineapple mango flavor came across as artificial. Nevertheless, as the tasting progressed, the fruity flavor became more enjoyable, even if it leaned more towards mango than pineapple.

Wendy’s has stated that the Krabby Patty meal will be available for a limited time, leading to a sense of urgency for fans eager to try it out.

With this collaboration, the hope now is for similar nostalgia-driven menu items, like the Krusty Krab pizza, to be explored in the future.
