Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital welcomed its first baby of the year on January 4, as Waylon Kenneth Mann made his debut at 11:29 p.m. Proud parents Ali and Nate Mann from Lincoln City celebrated the arrival of their first child, who weighed in at 7 pounds, 14.3 ounces and measured 20 inches long.
Inspired by the legendary country artist Waylon Jennings, the couple chose the name Waylon, reflecting Nate’s passion for Jennings’ music and their shared affection for the distinctive cowboy-sounding name. The middle name, Kenneth, pays homage to Nate’s father, whom Ali described as a “great person we love so much,” highlighting the family’s commitment to honoring loved ones through meaningful choices.
The Manns, who are relatively new residents of Lincoln City after relocating from Northern California, are thrilled to have established their family in this coastal community. As they gazed lovingly at their son, peacefully wrapped in a blanket, they commented on how he bears a striking resemblance to Nate.
In celebration of their growing family, the new parents were presented with a wonderful gift basket filled with essential baby items and toys, courtesy of the Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital Auxiliary.
This heartwarming story showcases the joy of new beginnings and the beautiful connections that families make in their journeys. As the Mann family embarks on this exciting chapter, it emphasizes the support and community found in new places, fostering optimism for what lies ahead.
