In an exhilarating 8-person football game, Bushnell-Prairie City managed a narrow victory against Peoria Heights, winning 64-62 during their homecoming event. The thrilling conclusion saw Jonavan Harrell racing 50 yards with mere seconds left, followed by a crucial two-point conversion. Harrell also secured the victory with an interception as Peoria Heights aimed for a comeback.
Meanwhile, Pekin triumphed over Morton with a pivotal late-game play. With just over five minutes on the clock, Ty Jackson’s direct snap touchdown pushed Pekin to a 21-13 win. This victory snapped Pekin’s three-game losing streak and was a key win in the Mid-Illini Conference.
Peoria High’s final drive fell short against Normal West, concluding in a 43-38 loss. Despite quarterback Breon Green’s late efforts, penalties and a defensive sack halted Peoria’s comeback hopes.
Princeville edged past Abingdon-Avon with a late touchdown, securing a 21-20 victory. Similarly, Dunlap solidified their unbeaten status in a dominant performance over East Peoria, winning 35-0.
