A coastal flood advisory has been issued for the Jersey Shore and Delaware Bay areas, signaling potential weather challenges on Wednesday. Forecasters from the National Weather Service anticipate strong winds may lead to minor coastal flooding during both the afternoon and evening high tide cycles.
The advisory is effective from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, targeting counties including Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland, Ocean, Salem, and southeastern Burlington. The strengthening northeast winds could result in water accumulating along the coast and back bays.
While flooding is expected to be minor, some areas might experience continued effects into Thursday morning. Wind gusts are anticipated to reach speeds between 25 to 30 mph, especially along the coastal areas of the Jersey Shore.
Despite these conditions, the weather will remain relatively cool, with temperatures reaching the upper 60s to near 70 degrees. Following the passage of a cold front Tuesday night, the region will enjoy mostly clear skies and notably drier conditions.
Looking towards the weekend, the forecast suggests a stable weather pattern, with high pressure developing from the north. This will gradually warm temperatures, likely reaching around 80 degrees by Monday. Mostly clear skies and minimal chances of precipitation are expected until next week.
Residents and visitors are advised to stay informed about local weather updates, especially if they are planning activities along the coast.
