Even as many marriages end in divorce, the beloved comedy “Wedding Crashers” is marking two decades since its debut with a special return to theaters. Warner Bros. Pictures is collaborating with Fathom Events to celebrate this milestone by bringing the film back to the big screen on December 4 and 11.
As part of the celebration for the movie’s 20th anniversary, audiences can look forward to an added treat: ten minutes of deleted scenes that were part of the original home release. Tickets for these limited screenings are already available for purchase online.
In “Wedding Crashers,” Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn portray lifelong friends John and Jeremy, who have established a humorous tradition of crashing weddings to meet and connect with unsuspecting women. However, when John meets Claire, played by Rachel McAdams, at a wedding, the duo finds themselves breaking their own rules to visit her affluent family.
Directed by David Dobkin, the film features a talented ensemble cast, including Bradley Cooper, Isla Fisher, Christopher Walken, Jane Seymour, Dwight Yoakam, and Will Ferrell. Released during a time when studio comedies dominated the box office, “Wedding Crashers” became a major success, grossing over $288 million worldwide.
This nostalgic return provides a chance for both original fans and new audiences to experience the hilarious antics of John and Jeremy on the big screen once more, showcasing the lasting appeal of early 2000s comedies.
