The upcoming Indy Pride parade and Word of Mouth concert series in Central Indiana may face challenges due to the weather forecast. The National Weather Service indicates a significant possibility of showers and thunderstorms this Saturday and Sunday, leading attendees to prepare by bringing umbrellas.

Scheduled for Saturday, June 14, 2025, the Indy Pride parade will take place from 10 a.m. to noon. Following the parade, the Word of Mouth concert will be held at the American Legion Mall from 2 to 10 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.

Meteorologists predict a 70% chance of rain during the day on Saturday, with highs reaching approximately 84 degrees. Saturday night is expected to bring a 60% chance of additional showers and thunderstorms. Cody Moore, a local meteorologist, has advised attendees to be on alert for varying weather conditions throughout the day.

Tina Robb, marketing director for Indy Pride, confirmed that the parade and weekend events will proceed regardless of the weather, though they will have a severe weather emergency plan in place. Attendees are encouraged to remain vigilant about changing weather conditions and have a contingency plan if thunderstorms occur. Downloading the Indy Pride app will provide vital updates regarding events and safety measures.

In related news, this week’s weather in Central Indiana shows a mix of sunny days leading up to Saturday, promising a typical summer atmosphere, although rain is expected throughout the weekend.

Despite potential weather disruptions, the community spirit of Pride events is hopeful, with numerous additional activities planned throughout the month. These will ensure that everyone, whether they attend the parade or not, can participate in and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community during Pride Month.
