PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – The annual Rose Bowl Parade continues to be a celebrated tradition that features elaborate floats, talented musicians, and enthusiastic marching bands from across the nation.
This year, the Seminole Warhawks Marching Band had the honor of performing in the prestigious parade. Among the proud parents was Kimberly Erturk, whose son was one of the many talented performers. The students had spent about a week in California preparing for their moment in the spotlight.
Excitement ran high for Erturk, especially since her son is a freshman. “I’m super stoked,” she expressed, thrilled for the opportunity he had. Although many parents, including Erturk, were unable to travel to California to witness the event in person, they made sure not to miss the performance by gathering at Five Bucks Drinkery in Seminole.
These dedicated students have been putting in a tremendous amount of effort, practicing six days a week, participating in football games, and enduring extensive Saturday rehearsals. “To be honest, they love it,” Erturk remarked about the commitment shown by the band members.
As they watched from Seminole, parents felt an intense connection to the event, keeping their eyes glued to the screens as the Warhawks took the stage. When their turn came, and the familiar tune of “Gangnam Style” played, Erturk couldn’t hide her enthusiasm. “Worth every minute,” she said, reflecting on the culmination of all their hard work. “That was the best performance I’ve seen from all their practices.”
