Walmart has announced that it will remain closed on Thanksgiving Day, a policy that was enacted starting from 2020. The decision is aimed at allowing employees to enjoy the holiday with their families.

Following the Thanksgiving closure, the retail giant is gearing up for Black Friday with a strategic plan that includes both in-store and online sales. Doors will open at 6 a.m. on Black Friday, November 29, and will stay open until 11 p.m. Customers can also benefit from a series of Black Friday sales that began earlier in the week and will continue to be available online through Thanksgiving Day.

As the holiday season approaches, Walmart’s operating hours will remain consistent, with stores open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. until December 23. On Christmas Eve (December 24), stores will operate from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., and they will be closed on Christmas Day.

In addition, Cyber Monday will feature an expanded schedule as well, with exclusive online deals starting for Walmart+ members at 5 p.m. ET on December 1, followed by access for all customers at 8 p.m. ET. Shoppers can look forward to exploring a wide array of enticing online deals until midnight ET on December 2.

In summary, Walmart is blending its tradition of family-first values with a robust shopping strategy, allowing customers to prepare for the holidays while ensuring employees have time with loved ones. This approach reflects a growing trend among retailers to prioritize work-life balance during the bustling holiday season.
