In a continuation of its recent tradition, Walmart will remain closed on Thanksgiving Day, a policy first implemented in 2020 to allow its employees to spend quality time with their families. Instead of opening its doors on the holiday, the retail giant is gearing up for Black Friday with both in-store and online sales.
Starting Monday, Walmart launched its final series of Black Friday promotions, which will run online up until Thanksgiving. Following the day of rest, stores will reopen on Black Friday, November 29, at 6 a.m., allowing eager shoppers to take advantage of the deals. Walmart stores will operate nightly from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. until December 23, with specific hours of 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Notably, the stores will be closed on Christmas Day to allow employees to celebrate the holiday.
In addition to in-person shopping, Walmart will also participate in Cyber Monday, offering an extensive range of online discounts. Deals will be available to Walmart+ subscribers starting at 5 p.m. ET on Sunday, December 1, and to the general public from 8 p.m. ET. Shoppers can access these deals through Walmart’s website or app until midnight ET on December 2.
This commitment to supporting employees during the holiday season while simultaneously enhancing their Black Friday and Cyber Monday offerings reflects Walmart’s ongoing efforts to adapt to changing consumer preferences and promote a family-friendly culture. By prioritizing employee well-being, Walmart continues to foster a positive work environment, which can lead to improved customer service and satisfaction.
In a world filled with busy shopping seasons, Walmart’s approach offers a refreshing reminder of the importance of family, even amidst the hustle and bustle of holiday shopping. With multiple ways for customers to engage with the brand during the shopping frenzy, Walmart’s strategy also highlights a balanced perspective on consumerism that values both community and commerce.
