Waisale Serevi, the celebrated rugby icon known as the King of Sevens, made a heartfelt return to Delainamasi Primary School on December 2, marking a significant milestone 46 years after he graduated from there in 1979. Invited as the Chief Guest for the school’s 2025 graduation ceremony, Serevi expressed his gratitude for the honor, emphasizing the impact of his upbringing on his life and career.
During his inspiring address to the students, Serevi highlighted the potential he sees in them, encouraging them to pursue their dreams across various fields. “I believe there is a lot of Waisale Serevi’s here today, not only on the rugby field but doctors, teachers, lawyers, pastors, sports stars, and many more,” he stated. His words resonated with the audience, as he shared his belief that with faith in God, hard work, and the determination to persevere, everyone can achieve their goals.
Reflecting on the foundation of his success, Serevi noted that his achievements stemmed from his faith, dedication, and the lessons learned from his time in Sunday School. He concluded his speech by challenging the new graduates to embrace these values, asserting that they have the power to realize their dreams if they remain committed and passionate.
This touching reunion not only celebrated the achievements of past students but also inspired the next generation to follow in the footsteps of role models like Serevi. His return serves as a reminder that the roots of hope, hard work, and perseverance can extend far beyond the rugby field.
