A 32-year-old man tragically lost his life in a motor vehicle accident in Wailekutu on Wednesday night. According to police reports, the man was riding his motorcycle towards Suva when he collided with a vehicle whose 36-year-old driver allegedly executed a sudden U-turn.
The accident took place shortly after 10 PM. Emergency services quickly transported the motorcyclist to the Colonial War Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by medical staff.
Authorities have announced that the vehicle driver will be interviewed as part of the ongoing investigation into the crash. Law enforcement officials are stressing the importance of road safety, urging all motorists to exercise extra caution, especially during nighttime driving, to ensure the safety of all road users.
