Vusu Raiders Gear Up for Melanesian Cup Clash in Port Moresby

The Vusu Raiders are set to depart for Papua New Guinea tomorrow, preparing for their eagerly awaited showdown against the Mount Hagen Wamp Nga in the upcoming Melanesian Cup. The team finished their dedication service yesterday and conducted their final training session today at the Ratu Filise Memorial School Ground.

Strength and conditioning coach Selo Sanawa expressed his pride in the team’s preparation, noting the dedication and discipline exhibited by the players during their training camp. “We thank the players for the pride, commitment, and sacrifice they’ve shown over the past eight days. The confidence among the group is high, and everyone is excited to play at Santos Stadium in Port Moresby,” Sanawa remarked.

Upon arrival in Papua New Guinea, the Raiders plan to undertake three additional training sessions before their opening match, scheduled for 1 PM Fiji time. This encounter will precede a highly anticipated clash between the Vodafone Fiji Bati and the PNG Kumuls, both teams eyeing crucial victories in their respective tournaments.

During their stay, the Vusu Raiders will be housed at the Holiday Inn in Port Moresby. Coach Sanawa also urged Fijians living in PNG to rally behind the team on match day, enhancing the community spirit and providing valuable support to the players.
